My Weekend in Cape Town

July 20, 2012 in Uncategorized

Cape Town

On the 23rd of June I set off to the airport, very excited for a weekend in Cape Town. I was heading down to speak at the 2012 Food Bloggers Indaba. Little did I know that a weekend of what was meant to be exploring one of my favourite cities would turn into me barely being able to get in and out of the car. As I was leaving for the Indaba on Sunday morning I slipped on the steps outside my aunt’s back-door and fell, spraining both my ankles and pulling/tearing my right calve muscles. I am still not sure how I actually drove to the conference venue but I got there and after popping some pain killers and an anti-inflammatory I got through my talk and workshop on Photography and post-editing with the wonderful Jeanne from Cooksister. As a result of the amount of pain I was in I didn’t take any photos at the Indaba unfortunately.

However, over the next two days I was determined to see and do as much as my sore and swollen legs would allow me to and so I set out with my friends Sam Linsell & Sam Woulidge and asked them to show me their favourite spots.

I just have to add here, The Kitchen where we had breakfast is the place where the ACTUAL Michelle Obama also ate… I feel like now we are kind of connected. Just me? Oh well.
