I love you man

One of my colleagues recently wrote a love letter to her body. She’s such a gorgeous girl. I am so filled with admiration for what she’s done and her essay was so touching that we’re dedicating this week to our bodies here at Chick24…. Shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet girl.
So…
Dear body… I really love you right now, and you probably hate my guts (your guts). Yeah, I kinda took you on a 4 day Orange River …let’s face it…Booze Cruise… and then I took you to Springbok to a pool competition in a Jagermeister Bar, followed by a sokkie or three… then I made you drive 6 hours back to Cape Town, fed you some pasta, and put you on a bike for 6 and half hours to do the Argus.
How could I be such an arse to you? Well because you NEVER complain, or give out or punish me. I was at my desk on Monday morning without my donut cushion…walking with a slight limp.
I love you because even when I stuff you with an 8 course tasting menu and a glass of wine with every dish, you never moan – except the one time I had to review two curry restaurants in one day – then you understandably waved the white flag and made me lie down for an hour.
So …dear body – thank you for being the one dished out to me, otherwise I’d probably be a goner right now.
PS In spite of all the teasing you get, I really do like your pot belly.
You can see just a little bit of it sticking out there above the shorts…
and just because it was such an awesome trip… here’s one of the very strenuous trip down the Orange River…
Body… you’re the bomb. x
