The Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers of SA food bloggers!

October 25, 2012 in Uncategorized

The first thing Anél Potgieter of lifesazoobiscuit said when she learnt she’ll be cooking against Barry Gerber of What’s Cooking was: “No, please! He’ll go through because he’s the only man here …!” We must have convinced her that we play fair because the next thing we knew, she and Barry were getting on like a blazing pot of oil. The chemistry was  palpable in the make-up suite already and as the day wore on, it continued to grow – even long after the event. Yesterday, Anél hailed Barry as one of the most amazing men she knows in her post about the day.

Their chemistry made for an amazing episode and although a lot of competitiveness was (haw-haw, wink-wink) displayed, underneath it all between them was camaraderie and respect and above all like and joy and sensationally delicious cooking. The chemistry is obvious as you will see Saturday morning at 08:30 on SABC2. DSTV subscribers can catch it on Channel 192. We say no more, a picture is worth a thousand words.

It started very early on a very cold morning

The tension-breaking goofs

The action

Lifesnotazoobiscuit with all that *&@# in your face!

We don’t want to cause a riffel, but Reuben is not the only Robertson man!

Both blogs’ message

Upon entering the competition the contestants agreed that they will develop recipes for, cook with and talk on camera about the sponsor’s brands who made this series possible. The recipes will follow on Monday.

Enjoy watching!
