Day 1 – January 3rd 2011

Depart from Cape Town/ Johannesburg for flight to Hong Kong

Day2 – January 4th 2011

Arriving Hong Kong

Welcome to Hong kong via flight CX748 at 07:35am, you will be met and transferred to downtown Hong kong by our friendly guide. Enjoy and orientation sightseeing tour of this vibrant city including Victoria Peak and Replse Bay before transferring to the Jumbo Kingdom floating restaurant by boat for a typical Dim Sum lunch at own cost. We will then transfer to our Hotel, the Miramar, to freshen up and relax before enjoying a typical Korean BBQ in a local restaurant.

Day 3 – 5th January 2011

Depart Hong Kong to Beiijing. After arriving at Beiijing International Airport, you will be met by your friendly guide, and he will transfer you to the centrally located Beiijing International Airport *** for check-in and freshen-up, dinner in local restaurant. 

Day4 – 6th January 2011

ABF at the hotel, morning visit to the Tiananmen Square and the spectacular Forbidden City. Afternoon visit to the Temple of Heaven where the Emperors in the ancient times prayed for good harvest, later in the afternoon visit to the kitchen of Bianyifang Restaurant where Peking duck is being prepared, with special instructions by chef from this time-honoured restaurant who will demonstrate how to cut the duck into 118 pieces. This evening we will enjoy a Peking Duck dinner.

Day 5 – 7th January 2011

ABF at the hotel, morning visit to the Great Wall of China. Lunch at Commune at the foot of the Great Wall, and in the afternoon visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb (Ding Ling).

Day 6 – 8th January 2011

Upon arrival to Xian met by local guide then transfer to Xi’an Jianguo Hotel*****, ABF at the hotel, and then visit the Terra Cotta Warriors’ Museum, lunch at the Friendship Restaurant within the Museum where you can witness how the chef doing some kind of local noodles, afternoon visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.  Tang dinner show in Shanxi Provincial Grand Theatre

 

DAY 9 – January 11th 2011

Morning visit to the local market with the buyers/chefs from a local restaurant,  we will be given instructions on buying vegetables, meat, fruit, etc. This will be followed by a Cooking lesson at the restaurant. Lunch is at the same restaurant. Afternoon visit a local university and have seminar with students.

 

DAY 10 ­- January 12th 2011

Breakfast at the hotel, full day visit to the Provincial Museum, the Bell Tower and the Grand

Mosque, enjoy shopping and walking-around at the Muslim living-quarter. Lunch at a hot-pot restaurant. Visit the MUSICAL FOUNTAIN,  Enjoy a very sumptuous Dumpling banquet composed of over 18 courses of dumplings, each cooked in different method, and stuffed with various fillings at the time-honored Defachang Restaurant. Enjoy another  foot rub in the evening.

 

DAY 11 – January 13th 2011

ABF at the hotel, drive to the airport for morning flight to Shanghai, upon arrival lunch at a special Mongolian Barbeque restaurant. Afternoon visit to Yu Garden, the old town and the bund. We will stay at the centrally located luxury historical hotel, Jinjiang Hotel*****

 

DAY 12  – January 14th 2011

ABF at the hotel, full day visit to Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Museum and the cruise on Huangqu River, lunch and dinner at local restaurant. Afternoon visit to the Bund Area and the famous TV tower in Pudong. Enjoy an amazing display at the Acrobatics Show followed by dinner at Bifengtang Restaurant.

 

DAY 13  – January 15th 2011

ABF at the hotel, day tour to Suzhou include Humble Administration Garden, Garden of Net and Master, Silk factory, lunch and foot rub. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the Grand Canal and take look at the traditional Chinese-styled  houses on the canal side. Dinner at local at the Bamboo hotel and listen to some music performed by a Phillipino Band. Overnight at the luxury Nanlin Hotel *****

 

DAY 14 – January 16th 2011

ABF at the hotel, check out from the hotel, drive to Shanghai Maglav Station and experience the most updated modern technology in rail transportation, the world fastest Maglav Train for the Pudong International Airport for the home flight Via Hong Kong. We depart at 18.55 from Shanghai to arrive in Hong Kong at 21.40, we connect at 23.45 on Cathay Pacific flight CX749 to Johannesburg.

 

 

DAY 15 – January 17th 2011

This morning we arrive in Johannesburg at 06.35 where we will clear customs and connect with our onward flights to Cape Town and other airports. Arrival in Cape Town at 12.00pm approximately.

Single supplement ZAR 3900
 
Includes:
- Flights from South Africa including taxes.
- Hotel accommodation mentioned above and daily breakfast.
- Train soft sleep from Beijing-Xi’an, domestic flights Xi’an-Shanghai (economy class with airport tax and fuel price).
- Meals mentioned above with one glass of soft drink, like high quality of local beer, regular coke, sprite and mineral water.

  The extra drinks should be paid on the spot on the consumption basis.
- A national guide, who will escort the group for the whole journey.

  Air-conditioned private coach with English speaking local guide.
- Admission fees for the sightseeing specified above.

Excluded costs: Visa, tips, meals not mentioned, additional beverages not mentioned,  single supplement, spending monies and travel insurance.
 
Remarks:
1. The price is based on the standards of a group of 16 to 20  pax twin-sharing.
2. The above rate is based on US Dollar; currently exchange rate 1 US dollar equals ZAR 7.50
3. Accommodation:
a) According to international policy of the hotels, check in time is 14:00; and check out time is 12:00. Early check in would be guaranteed only one night room rate is paid in advance.
4. Suggestions for tipping:
USD 3 per person per day for the national guide
USD 2.5 per person per day for one local guide
USD 2 per person per day for one driver
USD 0.5 per person per day for baggage handling
Eight dollars per person per day in total, preferably collected at the beginning for the national guide’s disposal.
