Zorba Saturday

October 20, 2011 in Uncategorized

I felt once more how a simple thing is happiness: a glass of wine, a roast chestnut, a wretched little brazier, the sound of the sea. Nothing else. And all that is required to feel that here and now is happiness is a simple, frugal heart. (Zorba the Greek, film 1968).

We’re back home and a little slice of my life played itself out in nature working with an amazing crew and events partners and this post is for them, the incredible team who were part of the creation of an incredible body of professional work on the smallest budget ever: You reminded me how rich simple is. How sad the yearning for adoration and accpetance yet how peaceful we are without ego. Most of all, how kind God’s grace when at first light, the mist silently rises from the lake to meet what’s coming.

On Saturday morning when SABC3 launches Challenge SOS at 8:36 am, I’ll drink to you from my glass on the beach and repeat: …. here and now is happiness is a simple, frugal heart.

Thank you.

And cheers! On season two!
