Sapori …. Welcome to My Virtual Italian Restaurant & Cook Book

August 25, 2011 in Uncategorized

Welcome to ‘Sapori” my Virtual Italian Restaurant / Cook Book …. This is a unique ‘Weightless’ eating experience darlings, order whatever you wish and as many portions as your heart desires because you won’t gain any weight!

If you are planning a dinner party or looking for something a little Italiano for dinner with your loved one – simply select your dish below and you will be taken to the relevant recipe. Mix and match, invite your ‘besties’ over, crank up the Andrea Bocelli and celebrate life ….. Don’t forget the vino though!

I know that you can look up recipes on the search function on my blog or any blog for that matter, but I have a bad habit of naming my posts completely, absurdly, totally misleadingly e.g. Broken Noses and Chicken and Prawn Spicy Paella! This is NOT GOING TO MAKE FOR EASY REFERENCING!

After reading Jane-Anne Hobbs’ article on recipe writing (Do yourself a huge favour and click on the link and go and have a read … sage advice.) I have realised that I need to pay a lot of attention to ‘some’ details on my blog ie. Titles and measurements! I have trouble finding my OWN recipes on my blog ha ha …

Simply click on the title of the dish you want to make to reveal the recipe and method.

  1. Please don’t change your style my little sis, I like you just the way you are! :)

  2. Ah, thanks Sue. I don’t think my style will change – but I am one of those people who seldom cooks with measurements so I just need to pay a bit more careful attention to them I guess. TGIF xxxx Have a great weekend xxxx jan

  3. U are regarded as one of SA’s best bloggers – so u already have a winning style – no need to change, Jan – we luv your posts and recipes. Luv this recipe book idea. Enjoy your weekend, Jan.

  5. Brilliant Jan, I agree with all other comments. You are amazing!

  6. Whilst I fully agree with Jane-Anne Hobbs’ brilliant advice, I also feel too much uniformity will turn us all into copy-cat bloggers, so keep your wonderful, romantic, cheerful blogging style, your quirky recipe layout, and your clever ideas – like this ‘menu’ – divine!!! Mwah!

  9. The one good thing about advice is – you don’t have to take it. I love your style of blogging – not only does it make me want to pack my bags and live in Italy, but it reminds me of my dearest friend, (an Italian) and another thing is the joy that bubbles from your posts.
I vote you write just the way you do!
    Have a fantastic weekend.

  10. I am trying to make my recipes more accessable and easier to locate so I shall be posting a selection of recipes in this ‘virtual book form’ once a week … using different themes .. Have an awesome weekend xxxx jan

  11. Hey Mitzi – thanks hun I really appreciate your comment. Just trying to be the best I can be I guess – and I am going to post a book a week – with different themes … the objective is to make my recipes more accessable. Have a great weekend angel xxx jan

  12. Thanks Witch Twin – I do agree with Jane though, that it’s easy to be less than mindful about some aspects of blogging. I cook very much according to my families likes and tastes and often say a handful of this or that. I remember the days when I couldn’t cook anything and try to blog in a way that makes it easy for ANYONE to follow my recipe – and even encourages them to try out something new. I shall never change my style per se – but I feel the need to be a little more precise with ingredients and measurements. I also agree that listing alternate names ie. aubergine / brinjal is a good idea as is a list of where one can obtain the more unusual ingredients that I sometimes offer – but as for my writing style … that’s me and I can’t do a thing about that!!! So you are stuck with that … ha ha Have a great weekend xxxx jan
