About

Head on over to my main blog at http://jesska.co.za

Hi there!

I’m Jessica, the real life person behind “JessKa’s Kitchen”. I started blogging in the middle of 2011, with my blog www.nomnomcupcake.co.za.  After much deliberation, a desire to expand, and a realisation that I actually hadn’t blogged about cupcakes in a very, very long time, I decided to create JessKa’s Kitchen, a blog about EVERYTHING in my Kitchen – from the Recipes I use, to the Gadgets I own, to the mini library of cookbooks lining my bookshelf.

This is me!

So a bit about me, I’m 25 and I live in the bustling city of Johannesburg, South Africa. During the day I am a Network Engineer for one of South Africa’s telecommunications companies, and at night I turn into a food obsessed creature who loves to eat, cook and bake.

I absolutely adore the colour pink, to the point where the majority of the items I own are pink in colour. My KitchenAid has got to be my all time best pink foodie buy. This machine is amazing – apart from being a super-duper mixer, it can even do cool things like grate cheese!

This is my KitchenAid

My cookbook collection is forever growing, I love pictures of food, and will mostly choose my next cookbook purchase based on the pictures in the book. I hate recipes that don’t have pictures, as its always nice to know what you are aiming for when you are recreating a dish.

  1. Hi Jessica,

My daughter(5 yrs)and I also adore pink things!I lost an Ina Paarman recipe book, which had the most delish Malva pudding recipe made from scratch. Lately her recipes mostly require her products. Do you perhaps have a foolproof recipe for me?

    Fellow Foodie:)

      Hi Deidre,

      Your daughter has excellent taste!

I made malva pudding cupcakes last year on my old blog, with the recipe from Yuppiechef (which you can find here)
The recipe is very easy to follow, and the results are delicious!

      Happy baking!
      Jess
