warmed date and almond mix on greek yoghurt

July 19, 2008 in Uncategorized

I had a tub of really good and thick greek yoghurt that would be
great for what I hoped to be the start of a series of healthy
breakfasts (as opposed to whatever I can eat while driving to work).

NIelfa left a comment on my pancake post that sparked of an idea of what would be a great flavour for the unsweetened yoghurt.

I started off with choppped dates, chopped almonds and cut up the
last slice of glacé orange. I added to this mix; ground almonds,
cinnamon, nutmeg and honey. All stirred and warmed in pan until
everything looked and tasted yum and rich.

You can leave out the nutmeg if you like, I just love the bitter-soothing flavour of it.

Serve topped on a bowl of greek yoghurt.
