The cake
October 2, 2008 in Uncategorized
Taken with my cellphone, these photographs are not the best, but I felt I just had to share this edible
petite mort with you.
I doubled up on Naqiyah’s recipe and baked this in a bundt mould.
I didn’t have any caramel essence on hand, and substituted with strawberry essence.
The cake was cut in half and sandwiched with a mixed berry filling
that had been syruped with star anise and a layer of whipped cream
accented with cardamom.
The ganache was an indecent affair that used close to an obscene
400g of chocolate (milk choc and chili choc) and a sprinkle of red
chili flakes.
I finished it off with milk chocolate buttons and scatterings of pink sugar.
