A light airy sponge cake filled with pastry cream and coated with chocolate glaze this cake takes some advance planning to ensure all components cool before assembly but it is well worth the extra effort.
Not too long ago I got this idea in my head to make Boston cream pie (I have really no idea where the inclination came from) but once I can’t stop thinking about something, I have to do it. It took me a while to find a decent recipe since many American recipes use cake and pudding mixes but I eventually found this one and nearly fell off my chair laughing at the intensity of the instructions.
