Cherry Berry Smoothies

January 20, 2011 in Uncategorized

Hello everybody :)

Today I’m sharing with you guys my first attempt at smoothies and trust me it wasn’t really smooth sailing ;) . In our home my husband usually makes smoothies, I don’t like them all that much because I dont like that many fruits. Thats is until he came home with a selection of berries (my favourite) and I just had to take the smoothie machine by the button and come up with something delicious.

So how hard can it really be I mean you just chuck in a whole lot of fruit and blitz, pour and serve. Thats exactly what I did and was met by a deafening roar in the machine. Oh hell I thought there goes another appliance. Meanwhile husband eyed me tentatively  ”errmmm honey you have to REMOVE the pits from the cherries before you use them”. Oops! Well I was all ready to give up until I tasted the smoothie and woweee it was so yummmmmmmyyy! The combination of fruits and flavours and the refreshing tingle on my palate was just to awesome. I could not throw it out so all I did was strain the drink through a sieve and voila. There were still very delish with a few cherry pits in between (but hey a little roughage is always a good thing ;) .

So give it a try as an awesome breakfast booster or also a pick me up during the day and while you at it let me know how you handle kitchen flops/disasters….

Cherry Berry Smoothies
